Recycling for a circular future
We keep plastics in use and out of waste. With our own recycling facilities and decades of experience, IPL Schoeller turns used materials into new, long-lasting packaging and products that helps customers meet circular economy goals.

Closing the loop together
Recycling is key to a circular economy. At IPL Schoeller, we give plastics a second life by turning used materials into high-quality recycled polymers for new packaging.
Formed from the merger of IPL and Schoeller Allibert, we bring together deep recycling know-how, advanced technology and a shared commitment to sustainability. Our goal is to make recycling more efficient, responsible and accessible for our customers.

Europe Insights
Supporting PPWR compliance in Europe
Alongside reuse targets, the PPWR sets new standards to ensure packaging is designed for effective recycling and that contamination in recycling streams is minimised.
It requires all packaging to be recyclable by 2030 and defines minimum recycled content levels for packaging. For non-PET plastic packaging, for example:
Minimum 10% for contact-sensitive uses, such as food packaging
Minimum 35% for all other applications
At IPL Schoeller, we combine materials expertise with in-house recycling facilities to create efficient closed-loop systems, taking back used crates and containers to produce new, high-quality packaging for our customers.
Our recycling capabilities
Recycling in action
Across our network, we collect, recycle and reuse old transport packaging to create new products that perform just as well as those made from virgin material. This closed-loop approach saves resources, cuts waste and helps customers reach their sustainability goals.

Beyond Reusable Packaging Recycling
IPL Brightgreen: recycling at scale
At Brightgreen, our recycling operation in the UK, around 50,000 tonnes of household plastic waste are turned into high-quality recycled materials each year. That is about 10% of all kerbside rigid plastic waste in the UK.
This material becomes a new raw resource for durable packaging, proving that post-consumer waste can power a circular economy.
Materials innovation
Materials innovation for a Circular Economy
We believe innovation can make even hard-to-recycle plastics part of the circular economy. Our materials specialists work with customers to identify waste streams and transform them into new, long-lasting packaging or logistics products.
By combining research, design and collaboration, we turn waste challenges into valuable, sustainable solutions.
